Nepa’s Reality

This page is written to explain my situation clearly and honestly, because many people know I had brain fever, but very few understand what changed after that.

1. Face blindness πŸ‘€πŸ§

I struggle to recognise people I have already met πŸ˜•.
Sometimes, I don’t recognise relatives or known people πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘β“. Even after multiple meetings, faces may not register properly in my brain πŸ”πŸ§β€β™‚οΈ.

Face blindness means my eyes see people clearly, but my brain fails to identify who they are 🧠. I may see a face, but my brain cannot confidently say, β€œYes, this is the same person I met before.”
This is not forgetfulness. This is a neurological limitation.

Because of this, people think I am ignoring them intentionally πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈβž‘οΈπŸ˜”, people feel hurt or insulted without knowing the reason πŸ’”, and social situations become mentally stressful for me πŸ˜£πŸ“.

The heart remembers people.
The brain fails to recognise faces.

Face Blindness – In Simple Words

Understanding Face Blindness – In Simple Words

Imagine standing among 20 goats of the same colour 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

Someone points to one goat and says,
β€œRemember this one.”

After a few minutes, you are asked to find the same goat again.

All goats look similar πŸ‘€
No clear mark ❌
No difference ⚠️

You feel confused πŸ˜•
You hesitate πŸ€”
You are unsure ⏳

That confusion is face blindness.

What Changes Recognition

Now imagine that goat has:

  • a scar βœ‚οΈ

  • a bent horn πŸŒ€

  • a limp 🦡

Suddenly, recognition becomes easy βœ…

This is how my brain works.
It cannot rely on faces.
It depends on differences and patterns.

How Face Blindness Works

With face blindness, the brain:

  • does not store faces properly 🧠

  • cannot separate similar-looking people

  • fails to match face with identity

So when people have:

  • similar age

  • similar build

  • similar hairstyle

The brain goes blank β›”

How I Cope

Since faces are unreliable, my brain uses:

  • voice 🎀

  • way of speaking

  • behaviour

  • body language

So instead of remembering:

β€œThis is Parmikash”

The brain remembers:

β€œThe person who speaks fast and laughs loudly.”

This is adaptation, not choice.

The Hidden Problem

Behaviour changes πŸ”„
Context changes 🌍
Appearance changes βœ‚οΈ

Recognition can fail again.

And people think:

  • attitude

  • arrogance

  • disrespect

But the truth is neurological limitation 🧠

Why This Matters

Face blindness is invisible πŸš«πŸ‘οΈ
People see the reaction β€” not the struggle.

The following real-life incidents show how face blindness has caused serious social and emotional damage in my life. ⬇ ⬇️

The Hidden Problem I Live With

Face blindness does not stop at confusion.
It creates constant fear of making mistakes.

Every social interaction carries risk:

  • One wrong assumption

  • One missed recognition

  • One misunderstood reaction

And the damage happens before I even realise it.

Over time, this leads to:

  • social withdrawal

  • mental exhaustion

  • fear of gatherings

  • guilt for things I never intended

This is not overthinking.
This is self-protection.

If I Get Married With Face Blindness

Marriage is not just about two people.
It involves:

  • families

  • relatives

  • social functions

  • expectations

  • daily interactions

With face blindness:

  • I may repeatedly fail to recognise people

  • I may unintentionally insult or hurt others

  • My partner may constantly have to explain my behaviour

  • Small mistakes may turn into permanent relationship damage

  • Continuous pressure can worsen my condition

Even if my intentions are good,
the damage will still happen.

This makes marriage unsafe for everyone involved, not just me.

If I Stay Single

When I stay single:

  • I can set boundaries

  • I can limit social exposure

  • I can recover mentally after mistakes

  • The impact of errors stays mostly with me

Single life is already demanding, but it is manageable.

Marriage removes these controls
and multiplies the risk.

Choosing to stay single is not avoidance.
It is a responsible decision based on reality.

Parmikash

Parmikash was a smart, sweet little boy – studying in 7th or 8th.
He spent his annual holidays with me.
We were very close – like family 🀍
Movies. Outings. Laughter. Memories.
He promised he would visit me every year.

Then one day, at Sarath Anna’s rented house,
a little boy ran towards me with excitement πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈβœ¨

Because of my face blindness and behavior confusion,
I misjudged him completely.
I thought he was a mentally challenged child.
I walked away.

Days later, I found out the truth.
That boy was Parmikash. Grown up. Happy. Waiting for my love.

I gave him 0% of the love he came running for.
And I didn’t even know.

From that day, he never spoke to me the same way.
I never explained my condition.
I never corrected the misunderstanding.

And now, I live with the weight of that silence.
Not because I didn’t care.
But because my brain failed me.
πŸ§ πŸ’”

This is what face blindness really does.
It doesn’t just confuse faces.
It breaks invisible bonds.

2. Route blindness πŸ‘€πŸ§

I struggle to remember routes and directions, even to places I have visited many times πŸ˜•.
Roads with multiple turns confuse me easily πŸ”πŸ›£οΈ. Without navigation support, I can get lost very quickly, even in familiar areas πŸ“β“.

Route blindness means my eyes see the road clearly, but my brain fails to store and recall directions 🧠. I may travel the same path repeatedly, yet my brain cannot confidently say, β€œYes, I know how to reach this place.”
This is not carelessness. This is a neurological limitation.

Because of this, people think I am careless or irresponsible πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈβž‘οΈπŸ˜”, people question my independence 🀨, and travel becomes mentally stressful instead of routine without google map πŸ˜£πŸ—ΊοΈ.

The eyes see the road.
The brain fails to remember the way.

Route Blindness – In Simple Words

Understanding Route Blindness – In Simple Words

Imagine you are asked to walk through a place with many identical streets πŸ›£οΈπŸ›£οΈπŸ›£οΈπŸ›£οΈ.

Someone says,
β€œJust remember the way. It’s simple.”

You walk:

  • left

  • right

  • straight

  • another turn

After a few minutes, you are asked to go back alone.

Everything looks similar πŸ‘€
No clear landmark ❌
No strong reference ⚠️

You feel confused πŸ˜•
You hesitate πŸ€”
You stop β›”

That confusion is route blindness.

What Changes Navigation

Now imagine one thing changes:

  • a big temple πŸ›•

  • a tall building 🏒

  • a unique shop πŸͺ

Suddenly, navigation becomes easier βœ…

This is how my brain works.
It depends heavily on landmarks, not memory.

How Route Blindness Works

With route blindness, the brain:

  • does not store spatial paths properly 🧠

  • cannot recall turn-by-turn directions

  • fails when routes are similar or complex

So when roads have:

  • many turns

  • similar layouts

  • unfamiliar surroundings

The brain loses orientation β›”

How I Cope

Since route memory is unreliable, I depend on:

  • Google Maps πŸ“±πŸ—ΊοΈ

  • landmarks instead of road names

  • repeated checking and confirmation

  • avoiding unfamiliar routes when possible

So instead of:

β€œI know the way.”

My brain says:

β€œI need navigation to be safe.”

This is adaptation, not weakness.

The Hidden Problem

Navigation pressure creates anxiety.

When:

  • directions are given verbally

  • routes change suddenly

  • someone expects me to β€œjust remember”

My brain struggles.

And people think:

  • laziness

  • lack of confidence

  • over-dependence

But the truth is neurological limitation 🧠.

Why This Matters

Route blindness is invisible πŸš«πŸ‘οΈ
People see delay or confusion β€” not the mental load.

Every journey carries stress
that others never feel.

If I Get Married With Route Blindness

Marriage means:

  • frequent travel

  • visiting relatives

  • new places and routines

  • emergencies that need quick movement

With route blindness:

  • I may struggle during urgent situations

  • I may depend heavily on others

  • pressure and criticism can increase anxiety

  • mistakes may be misunderstood as irresponsibility

Even with effort,
the limitation remains.

If I Stay Single

When I stay single:

  • I can plan travel carefully

  • I can avoid risky routes

  • I can rely on tools without judgement

  • mistakes affect mainly me

Single life allows controlled navigation.
Marriage increases uncontrolled pressure.

Choosing this path is not fear.
It is self-awareness.

Final Note

Route blindness is real.
It is invisible.
And it affects daily independence.

Understanding this is not sympathy β€”
it is practical reality.

3.Colour, Smell & Taste Blindness πŸŽ¨πŸ‘ƒπŸ‘…

I struggle to clearly identify colours, smells, and tastes πŸ˜•.
Many colours look similar to me πŸŽ¨β“, many foods taste flat or similar 🍽️, and smells that others notice easily may not register in my brain at all πŸ‘ƒβ›”.

This condition means my eyes, nose, and tongue work, but my brain fails to interpret the signals properly 🧠.
I may see, smell, or taste something, but my brain cannot confidently say,
β€œYes, this colour is different,” or β€œYes, this flavour or smell is strong.”

This is not carelessness.
This is a neurological limitation.

Because of this, people think I am careless or uninterested 😐, people assume I am pretending or overreacting 🀨, and daily situations become socially awkward for me 😣.

The senses receive signals.
The brain fails to interpret them correctly.

How Taste & Smell Blindness Works

With this condition, the brain:

  • does not process taste signals clearly 🧠

  • fails to identify strong smells properly

  • cannot easily differentiate flavours

So when food has:

  • subtle taste changes

  • mild spice

  • gentle aroma

The brain does not react strongly β›”.

How I Cope

Since taste and smell are unreliable, I:

  • eat mainly for nutrition, not flavour

  • depend on routine foods

  • avoid judging food quality

  • trust others’ opinions about taste

So instead of saying:

β€œThis tastes good or bad”

My brain says:

β€œIt all feels mostly the same.”

This is adaptation, not attitude.

The Hidden Problem

Taste and smell are deeply connected to:

  • emotions

  • memories

  • social bonding

When I don’t react normally:

  • people feel unappreciated

  • cooks feel disappointed

  • reactions feel fake or forced

And people think:

  • arrogance

  • lack of gratitude

  • emotional disconnect

But the truth is neurological limitation 🧠.

Why This Matters

Taste and smell blindness is invisible πŸš«πŸ‘οΈ
People notice reactions β€” not perception gaps.

This silently affects:

  • family meals

  • social gatherings

  • emotional bonding

How AI Helps Me Today

AI does not restore taste or smell.

But it helps me:

  • explain my condition clearly

  • avoid hurting people unintentionally

  • prepare responses in social situations

  • reduce guilt and overthinking

AI helps me communicate what my senses cannot.

If I Get Married With Taste & Smell Blindness

Marriage involves:

  • shared meals

  • cooking expectations

  • emotional reactions to food

With this condition:

  • my responses may feel cold or artificial

  • my partner may feel unappreciated

  • repeated misunderstandings can build silently

  • emotional distance can grow without intention

Even if I care deeply,
my reactions may not match expectations.

If I Stay Single

When I stay single:

  • food choices remain simple

  • expectations stay low

  • misunderstandings are minimal

  • the impact stays mostly with me

Single life allows controlled expectations.
Marriage adds emotional interpretation pressure.

Choosing this path is not indifference.
It is realistic self-awareness.

These challenges are not visible from the outside.
They are not always known, understood, or noticed by others.

What is seen is behaviour.
What is missed is the limitation behind it.
